A funky art-house that is breaking the rules of a standard gallery in Ubud. Cata Odata (pronounced “cha-ta o-data”) is split into multiple levels, each having something new to explore. Numerous gallery spaces showcase unique work from various artists; both local and international. Cata Odata also has a very large working art studio, that is open to the public who want to come in and get their hands dirty creating some magic.
Above the studio is a small library loft and a hammock that serves the entire second floor. It is a great place to hang out both for appreciators of art and people passing through. Chat with local artists in residence or ask about the latest events going on.
Cata Odata upholds the spirit of collaboration through its events, often playing host to resident artists, and initiating collaborations with many local and international artists. They are responsible for collabs that have raised Ubud’s cool-level by painting the town with some seriously amazing street art!
Workshops, collaborative projects, skill sharing and plenty of creative discussions are the norm at Cata Odata. Exhibitions are often changing, so it’s always worth a peek through the doors to check out the latest intriguing exhibits and unique pieces for sale.
